The Filmmakers: Tony Fennell
TONY FENNELL (Music) is an accomplished English songwriter and performer now based in New York. He has worked with artists as diverse as Taylor Dayne, Sheena Easton, Ultravox, and Nona Gaye.
Fennell began his music career as the lead singer for Ultravox, an immensely successful British pop band with numerous top ten songs in the UK. After leaving Ultravox and moving to the States, he opened up his own recording studio and has continued to work as a writer, composer, performer, arranger, and engineer. Tony's past writing credits include "If You Believe" on Kenny Thomas' platinum selling album "Voices" (with David Frank) as well as "Heaven" and "Saving it Up" for Jaki Graham (with Bob Khozouri and Rod Gammons).
Tony has scored and done the soundtracks for feature films, including "Within the Rock," a collaboration with longtime friend and producer Rod Gammons. Tony and Rod also teamed up again recently to do the score and soundtrack for "Creepshow II." Fennell has also written music for television, including tracks for Scott Topper's highly acclaimed show on Fox Television, as well as "Gullah Gullah Island" on Nickelodeon and the HBO major motion picture "Hello, I'm Leaving." |
